Prologis was the first logistics real estate company to obtain ISO 14001 certification for environmental management. We did so for four of our regions in 2008: Southern Europe, Northern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, and the UK. Known as “the environmental standard,” ISO 14001 specifies requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance.
To renew the ISO 14001 certificate, Prologis submits to an audit process carried out periodically by Det Norske Veritas. The agency extended the certificate in September 2011.
Prologis develops new facilities to global sustainability standards and upgrades existing buildings with efficient lighting, cool roofs and low-water solutions. We work tirelessly to minimize our environmental impacts today and lay plans to ensure a better tomorrow. Prologis will continue to improve its environmental performance by meeting a demanding set of objectives by 2020.
In 2016, we extended the ISO 14001 environmental management system certification from Europe to the U.S. Compliance with the ISO 14001 standard is a source of pride at Prologis.
